Washington: During a significant meeting in Washington, Finance Minister Mr. Muhammad Aurangzeb and Ms. Anneliese Dodds, Minister of State for Development, Women, and Equalities of the United Kingdom, discussed strengthening the longstanding developmental ties between their countries. The talks emphasized mutual interests in climate initiatives and economic investments in key sectors.

According to Press Information Department, the Finance Minister expressed gratitude for the UK’s contribution of USD 120 million to the IFC’s Climate Investment Funds designated for Pakistan. He highlighted the State Bank of Pakistan’s recent efforts to clear all pending cases concerning the repatriation of profits and dividends, which he noted as a critical step towards enhancing the financial relations between the two nations. Mr. Aurangzeb invited UK companies to explore investment opportunities in Pakistan’s agriculture, information technology, and mining sectors, which are poised for growth under an improved investment climate.

The meeting underscored a mutual commitment to deepening economic cooperation and leveraging development funding to foster sustainable growth in both countries.
