NAB Sukkur DG, city mayor lead anti-corruption walk

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Sukkur Region on Monday organized an awareness walk to mark International Anti-Corruption Day.

The walk was led by NAB Sukkur’s Director General, Fayaz Hussain Qureshi, and Sukkur Mayor, Barrister Arsalan Islam Shaikh.

The walk was attended by members of the Sindh Public Service Commission, Qazi Shahid Pervez, Town Chairman Tariq Choohan, government officials, teachers, and students, along with individuals from various sectors.

The purpose of the walk was to raise awareness about the eradication of corruption in society. The walk was held from the NAB Sukkur office to the IBA University. During the walk, participants carried banners reading “A Corruption-Free and Prosperous Pakistan” and “Together Against Corruption.” The participants expressed their commitment to fighting corruption and promoting integrity for the betterment of future generations.

Speaking to the media, Fayaz Hussain Qureshi said that the prevention of corruption should take place at all levels, and that NAB was working according to the current laws following amendments. He urged the media to play its part in identifying corruption.

Arsalan Islam Shaikh said: “The corruption is a big challenge, and the Sindh government is working to eliminate it.” He said that the Anti-Corruption Department in Sindh had introduced reforms and launched training programs for investigative officers with the cooperation of the FIA to enhance their skills.

He further stated that NAB Sukkur’s initiative to raise awareness about corruption among the youth was a positive step, as corruption is a social menace, and everyone must contribute to its eradication.
