Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has urged the international community to renew its commitment to safeguarding the planet from pollution and the escalating threat of climate change.
In his message on International Earth Day, he emphasized the shared responsibility of protecting the earth through resource conservation, sustainable living, and heightened awareness of collective duties.
The Prime Minister highlighted that while Pakistan’s contribution to global emissions is minimal, the nation is ranked fifth among countries most susceptible to climate-induced disasters.
PM Sharif outlined the government’s initiatives, including the National Clean Air Policy, Single-Use Plastics Prohibition Regulations, and the National Adaptation Plan, aimed at restoring ecosystems, expanding clean energy, and empowering communities.
