Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) marked its 29th Foundation Day as ‘Pakistan Solidarity Day’ throughout Sindh on Friday, in response to a call by PTI Sindh President Haleem Adil Sheikh.
A major rally was organized in Karachi, starting from Insaf House and culminating at Mazar-e-Quaid. The rally was led by Haleem Adil Sheikh along with PTI Sindh General Secretary Dr Masroor Sial, PTI Karachi President Raja Azhar, General Secretary Arsalan Khalid, and other senior party leaders and MPAs. A large number of party supporters, including women and youth, participated with national and party flags, raising slogans for the release of PTI founder Imran Khan.
Participants also condemned India’s decision to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty, denouncing it as ‘water terrorism’ by the Modi government, and pledged support for Pakistan’s sovereignty and unity.
Earlier, addressing a press conference at Insaf House, Haleem recalled PTI’s formation 29 years ago by Imran Khan and lauded the sacrifices made by party workers for national causes. He demanded Khan’s immediate release, claiming that ‘the nation stands united under his leadership.’
Haleem warned that Pakistan would not yield on its water rights, stating that any Indian attempt to violate international agreements would face a robust response. He labelled Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi a ‘regional terrorist’ whose role, he claimed, had been exposed by international bodies including Canada.
Criticizing Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Sheikh accused them of misleading the public on the issue of disputed canals linked to the Indus River. He rejected their recent statements and reiterated PTI’s support for the people of Sindh in their campaign for water rights.
