The water supply for sacrificial animals has commenced at Asia’s largest Cattle Friendly Market located at the Northern Bypass, as preparations for Eid ul Adha gain momentum.
Contractor Mohammad Pervez, responsible for water arrangements at the market, confirmed that each animal is now being provided 30 liters of water per day, an increase from the previous 16 liters. Water is being supplied free of cost, and traders can access it by showing their official market entry cards.
To ensure uninterrupted supply, water bowsers have been deployed across all blocks of the cattle market. The contractor emphasized that water is being sourced only through approved hydrants, and external water sources have been strictly prohibited.
Pervez stated that the supply system would continue to operate round the clock until Eid ul Adha, aiming to facilitate the welfare of animals and traders alike. With over four million sacrificial animals expected to arrive at the market in 2025, authorities have finalized arrangements to ensure a steady flow of millions of gallons of water throughout the season.
