Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, Haroon Akhtar Khan, visited the proposed biogas plant site by Suzuki Company Limited in Manga Mandi, Lahore today. He was welcomed by Hiroshi Kawamura, Managing Director of Suzuki Company Limited Pakistan.
During his visit, Mr. Khan applauded Suzuki’s plan to establish a biogas plant for vehicles, underscoring its significance for Pakistan’s clean energy trajectory. He pointed out that biogas could significantly reduce the nation’s reliance on expensive oil and LNG imports. Emphasizing the government’s commitment to sustainable energy, Mr. Khan noted that the Prime Minister’s “Uraan Vision” prioritizes clean energy solutions.
He instructed stakeholders to expedite the plant’s implementation, highlighting its potential for environmental and economic benefits. Suzuki representatives mentioned that vehicles could still use petrol if gas isn’t available. Mr. Khan reiterated the government’s full support for initiatives aimed at lowering carbon emissions and advancing green energy.
