Food Authority Operations Continue in Muzaffarabad; Substandard Items Seized

The operations of the Food Authority team are ongoing to ensure the supply of registered and quality food items.

The Muzaffarabad Food Authority team set up a checkpoint at the Bararkot entry point to collect samples of water, juice, oil, and cold drinks, which were tested on-site using a mobile food testing lab.

Substandard and unregistered food items were seized, and fines and warning notices were issued to the respective food business operators. Muzaffarabad District Food Controller, Abrar Ahmed Mir, stated that the sale of unregistered and substandard food items is against the Food Authority Act 2017, and actions will continue under this act.

He further mentioned that the implementation of the Food Authority Act 2017 and Pure Food Regulation is a top priority. Strict action will be taken against those selling poor quality and substandard items to ensure the public receives unadulterated and quality food. No leniency will be shown to those selling unregistered and substandard items.
