Traders, Islamabad Administration Collaborate for Independence Day Festivities

Islamabad’s district administration met with traders’ unions on Friday following a call for protests, aiming to address business community concerns and ensure a peaceful environment leading up to Independence Day. Additional Deputy Commissioner General (ADCG) Sahibzada Muhammad Yousaf led the meeting with a delegation headed by Ajmal Baloch, President of the All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajiran.

The meeting focused on resolving urgent merchant issues and planning Independence Day celebrations. A joint initiative to decorate the capital was agreed upon, aiming for an elaborate and festive look. The collaborative effort seeks to ensure efficient arrangements for the national holiday.

ADCG Yousaf addressed concerns regarding sugar costs, unauthorized occupation of public spaces, plastic bag usage, and adherence to official pricing guidelines. He promised continuous dialogue between assistant commissioners and union delegates to effect tangible improvements.

‘Resolving traders’ difficulties is paramount for the district administration,’ Yousaf stated, emphasizing that enhanced collaboration between authorities and the business sector would ultimately benefit the public. He anticipates trader leaders” support for governmental policies and collaboration in maintaining the city’s growth trajectory.

Trader delegates expressed gratitude for the administration’s responsiveness and receptiveness to their issues, indicating some points would require further discussion in future sessions.
