A collaboration between the Sukkur National Press Club and the Shah Abdul Latif University’s Department of Media and Communication Studies aims to bridge the gap between journalists and newcomers to the field. A delegation from the press club, led by President Taj Mehmood Rind, met with the department’s chairman, Professor Dr. Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Abhro, on Thursday to finalize the agreement.
The visiting delegation included Chief Patron KB Sheikh, Secretary General Pargue Sharma, and photojournalist leader Ghulam Mustafa Raja Sheikh. Professor Dr. Abhro highlighted the department’s resources, including a radio station and TV production studio used for practical training.
Sharma emphasized the importance of partnerships between media outlets and educational institutions to promote modern journalistic skills, including investigative techniques and ethical practices.
Rind mentioned the press club’s commitment to engaging recent media graduates to promote professional skills and raise journalistic standards. Sheikh highlighted the aim of empowering educated youth in the media field to improve the overall quality of journalism.
Faculty members Nadeem Ahmed Detho and Farhan Ali Noonari were also present. The press club invited Professor Abhro to attend a future program.
