Pakistan achieved a significant advancement in space technology on Thursday with the successful launch of a remote sensing satellite from the Xichang Satellite Launch Centre (XSLC) in China.
The satellite, developed in partnership with the China Electronics Technology Group Corporation (CETC) and MICROSAT China, will provide crucial high-resolution imagery to enhance Pakistan”s capabilities in various sectors.
The Foreign Office stated that the satellite will play a vital role in urban development, infrastructure advancements, disaster response, agricultural oversight, food security, environmental preservation, deforestation monitoring, climate change studies, and water resource administration. This new tool is expected to bolster sustainable socio-economic growth and elevate the standard of living nationwide.
Developed by Pakistan”s space agency, SUPARCO, the satellite forms a key component of a comprehensive Earth observation program. This achievement solidifies Pakistan”s standing among space-faring countries.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, praised the engineers, scientists, and technical personnel from SUPARCO, CETC, and MICROSAT for their collaborative efforts and dedication to the project”s success.
