Quetta’s Deputy Commissioner, Captain (R) Mehrullah Badini chaired a meeting to review the fifth day of the Finger Polio Immunization (FPI) campaign, emphasizing the program’s crucial role in protecting children from the serious disease and directing efforts to ensure all remaining children are reached. The review, held at the District Secretariat, assessed the campaign’s progress, challenges faced, and future steps.
The Provincial Emergency Operation Center (EOC) Coordinator, Inam-ul-Haq, representatives of the National EOC, District Health Officer (DHO) Quetta, District Managers, and officials from relevant agencies were also present. Each officer individually presented details regarding the campaign’s status, team performance, community engagement, safety protocols, and potential obstacles. The meeting was informed of the positive progress of the program in Quetta and the overall satisfactory implementation.
Inam-ul-Haq expressed satisfaction with the campaign’s successful progress and appreciated the joint efforts of the district administration, vaccination teams, District Oversight Committee (DOC) participants, security forces, and partner departments. He commended the professional commitment shown by all institutions for a successful campaign despite difficult circumstances.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the FPI program’s significance in preventing life-threatening diseases. He directed the participants to strictly adhere to the micro-plan, intensify public awareness efforts, and ensure access to any unvaccinated children.
