MQM Pakistan leaders have expressed concern over the dramatic increase in street crime in Mirpurkhas, leaving citizens fearful and insecure. Thefts, robberies, and muggings have become commonplace, and criminals are seemingly operating without fear of consequence.
Among the victims are MQM Pakistan members, including Elders Wing Incharge Abdul Rahman Azad and worker Abdul Hafeez Chauhan, whose vehicles were stolen. Despite clear identification of the criminals in CCTV footage, law enforcement agencies have yet to apprehend any suspects.
The situation has deteriorated to the point where areas like Mir Wah, Digri, Jhuddo, Kot Ghulam Muhammad, and Naukot are being described as lawless. The unchecked distribution of illegal items, including gutka and narcotics, allegedly by individuals connected to the ruling party and corrupt police officials, further endangers the community, especially the youth.
MQM Pakistan officials have appealed to the country’s highest authorities, including the Prime Minister, Chief of Army Staff, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Governor Sindh, Chief Justice Sindh High Court, DG Rangers, and IG Sindh Police, to intervene and restore peace and order in Mirpurkhas and its surrounding areas by taking decisive action against the criminals and their alleged patrons.
