2 killed, 4 injured in three-vehicle collision on Mehran Highway

Two people were killed and four others injured in a three-vehicle collision on the Mehran National Highway near Pir Budhro in Setharja. A speeding Mazda, while attempting to overtake another vehicle, hit a rickshaw and subsequently collided with a Pajero.

The rickshaw driver, Zain-ul-Abidin Bhatti, died on the spot. The driver of the Pajero, Jan Muhammad Mahar, sustained serious injuries and was shifted to a medical center in Jhansa, but died on the way.

Police officials reached the spot, shifted the injured to the hospital and later handed over the bodies to the heirs. The driver of the Mazda fled, leaving the vehicle behind, and was later taken into custody by the authorities. The deceased driver of the Pajero was a resident of Khan Garh in district Ghotki. An investigation into the incident is underway.
