CTO Rawalpindi, Farhan Aslam, has ordered improved traffic management around educational institutions upon their reopening. Aslam directed circle and sector supervisors to prepare detailed traffic plans in coordination with school administrations to ensure smooth flow of traffic. He instructed supervisors to personally monitor operations during school opening and closing times.
Parking will be restricted to a single lane during school off-timing, and tow trucks will be deployed outside schools and colleges to deal with illegal parking. Patrols will be increased, with extra personnel deployed at key roads and intersections.
School administrations are required to clearly designate pick and drop zones. Street vendors will be banned near schools and colleges. The Traffic Education Unit will schedule presentations on traffic laws and road safety at schools, colleges, and universities. All motorists and pedestrians are urged to follow traffic rules for a smooth traffic flow.
