Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab today paid tribute to the Founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, at his mausoleum on his 77th death anniversary, emphasizing Karachi’s significance as the location where Jinnah raised the Pakistani flag.
Wahab urged citizens to reaffirm their commitment to Jinnah”s principles to propel Pakistan towards advancement and affluence. Accompanying the mayor were Municipal Commissioner S.M. Afzal Zaidi, City Council Parliamentary Leader Karamullah Waqasi, Deputy Parliamentary Leader Dil Muhammad, Jumman Darwan, and other KMC officials.
Wahab described Jinnah’s message as a guiding light for the nation, stressing the importance of unity in building a peaceful, flourishing, and robust Pakistan according to the founder”s vision. He highlighted the Quaid”s emphasis on education, unity, and discipline as essential elements for national development and security.
The mayor lauded Jinnah as one of history”s greatest leaders, acknowledging his political acumen and leadership in achieving an independent homeland for the subcontinent”s Muslims despite adverse circumstances. He underscored Jinnah”s dedicated struggle to protect the political, religious, economic, social, and cultural identity of the subcontinent’s Muslim population.
Wahab celebrated Pakistan”s establishment as the world”s first Islamic ideological state. He called for nationwide collaborative efforts to achieve the nation”s goal of becoming a developed Islamic welfare state and emphasized the collective responsibility of imparting Jinnah”s teachings to future generations.
