The KSE 100 index today experienced a slight increase of 291.65 points, closing at 158,236.68, reflecting a 0.18% rise.
This marginal upswing occurred despite a volatile day of trading on the Pakistan Stock Exchange. The benchmark KSE 30 index also saw a small increment, gaining 83.05 points to reach 48,235.21, a 0.17% change. Trading activity saw a notable surge in volume within the regular market, reaching 1,780,973,159 shares traded, compared to the preceding day”s 1,521,517,383 shares.
Despite the increased trading volume, the value of shares traded in the regular market declined, settling at 54,522,922,699 compared to the previous 58,725,407,892. Market capitalization, however, showed slight growth, reaching 18,694,289,070,019 from 18,632,468,072,866. Futures trading saw relatively stable volume, while the Open Deliverable Lot (ODL) market experienced a significant decrease in activity.
