Foreign Policy – Pakistan’s Prime Minister Praises Donald Trump for Halting Gaza’s ‘Genocidal Campaign’

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif today expressed profound gratitude to former U.S. President Donald Trump, crediting him with delivering on a promise to stop the “genocidal campaign” imposed on Gaza, which the premier identified as Pakistan”s most urgent priority.

In a post on his X handle, Sharif underscored that the immediate cessation of the offensive in Gaza has been a consistent and primary objective for Pakistan, a position stated and reinforced alongside other brotherly nations.

“Our gratitude to President Donald Trump is anchored in him promising that he would make it stop, and delivering on that promise,” the prime minister stated. “We will continue to express our admiration for President Trump’s unique contribution to peace.”

The prime minister also affirmed that the freedom, dignity, and prosperity of the Palestinian people remain a foremost concern for the government of Pakistan.

He reiterated that the establishment of a strong and viable Palestinian state remains the bedrock of Pakistan’s Middle East policy. The premier declared that this long-standing position, which advocates for pre-1967 borders with Al Quds Al Sharif as the capital, will be resolutely maintained.
