Government to Equip 53,000 Balochistan Youth with High-Tech AI and Cybersecurity Skills

In a landmark initiative aimed at the socio-economic development of Balochistan, the federal government is training 53,000 young men and women from the province in the advanced fields of Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity, according to Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training, Wajiha Qamar.

The announcement was a key highlight of the minister’s visit to the INOVISTA DHA Quetta Center on Saturday, where she inspected modern technical courses being conducted under the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTECH).

During the visit, Director INOVISTA Colonel (R) Imran Tauqir briefed the minister on the institution’s operational framework. He detailed that the center is currently offering three-month programs in AI and Cybersecurity, with 50 students enrolled in each discipline. To ensure discipline, biometric attendance has been introduced for all participants.

Colonel Tauqir praised the youth of Balochistan, describing them as confident and hardworking individuals who are making significant contributions to national development through modern technological proficiency.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Qamar stated that the large-scale training program aligns with Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s vision to integrate the province’s youngsters into the national mainstream and bolster their employment prospects. She referred to Pakistan’s youth as the country’s “greatest asset.”

Furthering the government’s educational commitment to the region, the minister also unveiled plans for the establishment of six Danish Schools in Balochistan, designed to provide widespread access to quality education.

While interacting with students in their classrooms, Qamar urged the attendees to embrace entrepreneurship and innovation rather than seeking conventional employment. ‘The future belongs to those who create opportunities through skill and innovation,’ she remarked.

Stressing the province’s strategic importance, the minister called for national unity to counter “malicious propaganda from hostile forces” and to project a positive image of Balochistan to the world.

Minister Qamar commended NAVTECH for its efforts and assured that more technical education centers would be established across Balochistan to strengthen its human resource potential. Director NAVTECH Hussain Bakhsh Magsi and other senior officials were also in attendance.
