The stalled Green Line extension project is incurring daily losses of Rs 20 million, it was revealed during a high-level meeting chaired by Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tesori, who took strict notice of the costly delays in development projects.
A meeting of Pakistan Infrastructure Development Company Limited (PIDCL) was held at the Governor House under the chairmanship of Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tesori today. In the meeting, the General Manager Engineering (PIDCL) and other officers gave a briefing on the ongoing projects.
The Governor Sindh was informed in the briefing that the closure of the Green Line extension project is causing a loss of Rs 20 million per day. The Governor Sindh took strict notice of the delay in the development projects of PIDCL.
The briefing further informed that the delay is being caused by repeated tendering for various projects. The Governor Sindh expressed his anger over the delay in the completion of the projects and sought a detailed report of the completed and under-construction projects. The Governor Sindh directed the concerned authorities to immediately remove the reasons and obstacles hindering the completion of the projects.
The Governor Sindh said that he ordered to complete all the ongoing development projects in the public interest on time. The Governor Sindh said that no negligence or negligence will be tolerated in the projects. The Governor Sindh also directed PIDCL officials to ensure transparency, quality and speed.
