In a significant move set to reshape the future of commerce and industry leadership in Pakistan, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) today officially mandated a sweeping revision of the curriculum for all Business and Management Studies degree programs, aiming to align academic training with contemporary global market needs and emerging industry trends.
The modernized curricula were developed following a thorough review by the National Curriculum Revision Committee (NCRC), which convened a meeting of distinguished academics and subject matter specialists from prominent universities across the nation. The HEC”s Curriculum Division facilitated this comprehensive revision process, which was held at the Institute of Management Sciences (IMSciences), Peshawar.
This comprehensive update affects a wide array of programs, including the BBA, BS, MBA, EMBA, MS, and various Associate Degrees. The reformed educational framework is designed to harmonize with the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) and the HEC’s Undergraduate and Graduate Education Policies of 2023, ensuring greater consistency and relevance in higher education.
The pivotal curriculum revision session was spearheaded by Dr. Naukhez Sarwar, Professor and Principal at NUST Business School, who served as the Convener. He was assisted by Dr. Farooq-e-Azam Cheema, Provost of KSBL Karachi, as Co-Convener, with Mr. Hidayatullah Kasi, Deputy Director (Curriculum), facilitating the proceedings as the NCRC Secretary.
