The federal government today issued a stern directive to Pakistan’s steel industry, clarifying that only quality and certified products will be acceptable in the market and that an increase in exports is possible only through the promotion of quality products. Through this measure, large-scale producers are being mandated to strictly adhere to national standards.
This unwavering stance was expressed by the Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Nawabzada Mir Khalid Hussain Khan Magsi, during a meeting with a high-level delegation from the Pakistan Association of Large Steel Producers.
The Minister stressed that this initiative is a fundamental component of the Prime Minister’s vision, which aims to ensure that the public has access to high-quality and approved goods in all sectors.
Mr. Magsi directly linked the implementation of quality standards to international trade, stating that to increase the country’s exports and strengthen its position in the global market, it is essential to promote high-quality products.
He assured the industry representatives that the stability of domestic industries is the administration’s top priority. The Minister clarified that such policies are designed to foster a strong industrial base.
It was further stated that to strengthen the national economy and create ample employment opportunities for the public, significant industrial development is crucial.
The Federal Minister concluded by reiterating that the government’s foremost objective is to enhance Pakistan’s exports through a steadfast commitment to quality production.
