Law enforcement agencies took swift action overnight and arrested six individuals, including the main suspect, on Thursday after a video of a citizen being tortured in the city went viral.
The Punjab Police launched an immediate crackdown after the torture footage surfaced and mobilized teams to track down those responsible for the attack. As a result of the police’s prompt action, half a dozen individuals allegedly connected to the incident were taken into custody.
Authorities have confirmed that the operation is still ongoing, and raids are being conducted to apprehend the remaining culprits involved in this brutal act.
City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani issued a stern statement on the matter. He emphasized, ‘Violence against any citizen will not be tolerated at all. The accused will be presented in court with solid evidence to ensure they receive due punishment.’
