Punjab Health Department’s national anti-measles and rubella campaign will be held from November 17 to 19

An important 13-day national immunization campaign against measles and rubella will be held from November 17 to 29, in which children aged 6 months to 5 years will be vaccinated.

Details of this initiative were shared today during an awareness seminar and walk organized by the Health Department to garner public support for the health campaign.

The event was presided over by Deputy Commissioner Ali Akbar Bhindar and was attended by CEO Health Dr. Ahmed Shahzad, officers from other district departments, and officials from the Health Department.

Mr. Bhindar explained that the purpose of the gathering was to highlight the importance of the anti-measles and rubella vaccine and to ensure that the general public was fully informed of its effectiveness.

Health officials emphasized that timely vaccination is the most effective solution to protect the new generation from these preventable diseases.

The crucial role of the education sector was also stressed, with health officers stating that collaboration between education and health guarantees a safe and healthy future for children.

Deputy Commissioner Bhindar specifically urged educators to play a key role in the campaign’s success and to inform parents and students about the importance of measles and rubella vaccination.
