Authorities Vow Strict Action in City-Wide Parking Crackdown

Islamabad Traffic Police said on Sunday that they has launched a significant crackdown on illegal parking across the federal capital, deploying special teams to take strict action against drivers violating no-parking rules and obstructing pedestrian footpaths.

The initiative, following special directives from Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, aims to maintain traffic flow, enhance the organized traffic system, and ensure greater compliance with traffic regulations.

Specialized units have been formed to monitor parking violations at shopping malls, markets, commercial centers, and on major thoroughfares throughout the city.

In a directive to all zonal DSPs, Chief Traffic Officer Islamabad, Capt. (retd) Hamzah Humayun, ordered the strict enforcement of traffic laws and indiscriminate action against elements that obstruct traffic discipline.

He further emphasized that parking in designated commercial zones must be meticulously observed, stating that no leniency will be shown to violators. The CTO reiterated that footpaths are meant for pedestrians and no obstructions on them will be tolerated.

While assuring that all possible facilities will be provided to citizens visiting commercial centers, authorities urged the public to cooperate by following traffic rules to help maintain an organized transport system.
