High-level military discussions in the Saudi capital have solidified the strategic defence partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, with both nations advancing collaboration under their Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement and exploring new joint ventures in emerging technologies.
According to a statement on Friday, the commitment was reinforced during a meeting between the Chief of General Staff of the Pakistan Army, Lieutenant General Syed Aamer Raza, and his counterpart, General Fayyadh Bin Hameed Al-Rowaily, the Chief of General Staff of the Royal Saudi Armed Forces.
Discussions centered on matters of mutual strategic interest, with a specific focus on deepening bilateral defence cooperation and enhancing military interoperability between the two allied nations.
Lieutenant General Raza also headed Pakistan”s tri-services delegation at a special session of the Pak-Saudi Bilateral Defence Industrial Forum. This forum reviewed the status of ongoing defence projects and identified new avenues for cooperation in alignment with Saudi Arabia”s Vision 2030.
The Pakistani general reaffirmed his country”s continued support for the capacity building and development of the Royal Saudi Defence Forces.
In return, the Saudi leadership appreciated Pakistan”s achievements and sacrifices in the global fight against terrorism, acknowledging its vital contributions to regional peace and stability.
