Water supply to Karachi was affected after a power breakdown at the Dhabeji pumping station at 6 am on Sunday,
The management of Karachi Water Corporation said that the power failure occurred at 6 am, which particularly affected the second phase of the Dhabeji pumping facility.
According to officials, the power outage affected Line No. 5, resulting in a complete shutdown of all pumps operating in the second phase of the station.
This disruption in operations directly jeopardizes the water supply to Karachi, and officials have warned that Karachi could face a potential shortage of 100 million gallons.
In response to this critical situation, the Water Corporation has initiated emergency repair work on the affected line.
The management has confirmed that all efforts are focused on completing the restoration work in a timely manner to save citizens from prolonged water shortages.
