Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi has directed police officials to resolve public complaints on merit within specified timelines, issuing on-the-spot orders during an open court session held at the Central Police Office.
According to Islamabad police’s report today, the session, part of an ongoing open-door policy, provided a platform for both residents and police personnel to voice their concerns directly to the head of the capital”s police force.
Emphasizing the importance of accountability, IGP Rizvi stated that the swift and merit-based handling of public issues is the department”s primary objective. He reiterated that his office remains accessible to any citizen encountering police-related difficulties.
Following the hearing of various complaints, the police chief instructed relevant officers to address all applications and submit compliance reports to the Central Police Office, ensuring a formal tracking of the resolutions.
The IGP also mandated that all Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) and Station House Officers (SHOs) must strictly observe designated office hours to be available for public interaction and to ensure timely grievance redressal at the local level.
The practice of holding daily open courts is a key component of a broader strategy aimed at improving citizen facilitation and prioritizing the resolution of public concerns.
