Capital Police Orders Crackdown on Illegal Foreigners, Ramps Up Digital Surveillance

Islamabad’s Inspector General of Police, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, today ordered indiscriminate legal action against foreigners residing illegally in the federal capital and a significant enhancement of digital surveillance to maintain law and order. The directives were issued during a high-level commanders conference attended by senior police officials at Safe City Islamabad.

During the conference, the IGP instructed that all available resources must be mobilized for maintaining peace in the city, with a key focus on technologically advanced monitoring.

He directed that digital surveillance through Safe City be intensified for tracking suspicious elements, mandating that all entry and exit points of the capital be monitored using this system’s modern software and technical resources.

To bolster the police”s response capabilities, the IGP called for the capacity building of the Capital Elite Force to be strengthened through training that meets modern-day requirements, enabling it to handle emergency situations effectively.

Furthermore, new training courses were ordered to be conducted to improve the professional skills of all Islamabad Police officers, allowing them to perform their duties with greater efficiency.

Visible patrols by the Dolphin squad and other units are set to increase throughout the city’s commercial centers, parks, and residential areas to foster a sense of security among citizens and deter criminal activity.

The police chief instructed officers to continue search operations within their jurisdictions and to establish special checkpoints in various city areas to curb criminal elements. He emphasized that personnel at existing checkpoints must treat citizens with courtesy and professionalism.

Regarding traffic, the IGP instructed that an efficient management system be maintained, ensuring that immediate alternative routes are provided to the public during emergencies to prevent inconvenience.

Senior officers were directed to ensure the effective utilization of existing manpower for better results and to personally supervise security arrangements in the field, maintaining complete coordination with their subordinate teams.

IGP Rizvi concluded by stating that protecting the lives and property of citizens remains a top priority, urging all officers to ensure optimal safety measures are in place.
