Five people, including two alleged robbers, were injured by gunfire in separate incidents across various districts of the city on Tuesday, prompting police to launch multiple investigations.
In Malir district, law enforcement agencies had an armed encounter with alleged criminals near Sherpao Colony. Following an exchange of fire, authorities arrested one suspect, identified as Manzoor alias Mazdoora, in an injured state. According to information from PRO Malir, a pistol with ammunition and cash were recovered from his possession.
Earlier, a robbery attempt was foiled in Abdullah Goth, Shah Latif Town, when an unidentified person opened fire on two suspects during resistance. One suspect, Shahbaz son of Saleem, was injured, while his accomplice managed to escape from the scene. A search for the absconding person is underway.
Separately, a personal dispute turned violent in District East. 25-year-old Farid son of Azad Khan was injured by a gunshot in Johar Bhittai Abad. Officials from the Gulistan-e-Johar police station have initiated an investigation into the matter.
In another incident in District East, a man was accidentally injured by his own gunshot. 24-year-old Shah Zor Zehri son of Nematullah was shot near Dolmen Mall on Tariq Road and was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for treatment.
Meanwhile, a stray bullet incident occurred on Mai Kolachi Road. 35-year-old Zubair son of Faizullah was injured near the NLC cut and was also moved to CHK.
The injured from all incidents have been transferred to medical centers, including Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) and CHK, while authorities in the respective areas are conducting further investigations.
