Injured Robbery Suspect Arrested After Exchange of Fire on Thatta-Baghar Mori Link Road

An alleged dacoit was arrested in an injured condition after a dramatic encounter with law enforcement agencies on the Pheer Mori-Baghar Mori link road on Monday. The encounter took place within half an hour of allegedly snatching Rs 10,000 in cash from a local doctor.

The incident began last night in the Waria Muhalla area when unidentified assailants allegedly snatched cash from Dr. Aslam Memon and fled the scene.

Upon receiving the information, authorities took immediate action. A team led by SHO Majid Ali Korai of the Thatta Police Station pursued the suspects. The situation escalated when the fleeing individuals allegedly opened fire on the police with the intent to kill, prompting an exchange of fire.

In the ensuing shootout, officers returned fire, resulting in one suspect being injured and apprehended. The arrested individual has been identified as Ahmed Raza, son of Shaukat Raza Tanoli, a resident of Karachi currently residing in Makli’s Turki Colony.

During the initial investigation, the suspect confessed to being involved in a series of criminal activities across Thatta district, including areas within the jurisdiction of Makli, Gharo, Sakro, and Ghora Bari police stations. He admitted to participating in numerous robberies, highway robberies, and motorcycle snatchings with his accomplices.

Law enforcement agencies have recovered a 125 motorcycle, a pistol used in the crimes, and the stolen Rs 10,000 from his possession.

The injured suspect has been moved to a medical center for treatment. Authorities are conducting a thorough background check on his criminal record and have initiated raids to apprehend his accomplices who escaped from the scene. Further investigation is underway.
