The Meteorological Department has warned in its forecast today for southern Punjab, upper Sindh, eastern and southern Balochistan, where a severe heatwave is expected.
In contrast, upper Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and nearby mountainous areas are expected to experience partly cloudy weather, strong winds, and possibly rain with thunderstorms.
The temperatures recorded in major cities across the country in the morning indicate various weather conditions. Islamabad and Quetta both recorded a temperature of 23 degrees Celsius, while Lahore had a temperature of 28 degrees Celsius. Peshawar recorded a temperature of 26 degrees Celsius, and Karachi reported 29 degrees Celsius. Relatively cooler conditions were observed in Gilgit and Murree, with temperatures recorded at 13 degrees Celsius and 14 degrees Celsius, respectively, while Muzaffarabad recorded a mild temperature of 21 degrees Celsius.
Residents of affected areas are advised to take necessary precautions against the severe heat and stay informed about potential weather conditions in their areas.
