Pakistan Peace Council Sindh President Maulana Abdul Majid Farooqui has severely criticized the United Nations, accusing it of a systematic failure to protect the rights of Muslims in Palestine, Kashmir, and other parts of the world.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Maulana Abdul Majid Farooqui stressed that the global body appears “completely unconcerned” about the widespread exploitation faced by Muslim communities. He highlighted the situations in Palestine and Indian-administered Kashmir as primary examples of this alleged insensitivity.
The provincial president of the Pakistan Peace Council Sindh, the Maulana, pointed to thousands of Palestinians who, he said, have been martyred due to “the aggression of occupying Israel.” He also claimed that in Jammu and Kashmir, the “occupying Indian army has crossed all limits of oppression.”
Farooqui, the orator and Imam of Jamia Masjid Al-Khalil, said that despite the Muslim Ummah raising its voice against injustices, the inaction of the United Nations regarding human rights violations in Gaza, Palestine, and India is a “tragedy.”
He concluded that the annual observance of Human Rights Day is overshadowed by the organization’s failure to protect the rights of Palestinians and Kashmiris for more than seven decades, making the purpose of the day a “question mark” for these populations.
