A 17-year-old girl was injured by a stray bullet in Orangi Town on Sunday, while three suspected robbers were arrested in separate armed encounters during police operations across the city.
According to a press release issued by Karachi Police today, 17-year-old Bisma daughter of Qurban was injured in the Raees Amrohi area of Orangi Town. She was transferred to a hospital for immediate medical attention. The Iqbal Market Police Station has initiated an investigation into the matter.
In a separate incident, an armed encounter occurred in Rahim Shah Colony within the jurisdiction of the Mominabad Police Station. During the exchange of fire, authorities arrested an alleged robber named Kabir son of Allah Bakhsh in an injured condition, while his accomplice reportedly fled. A pistol, bullets, cash, and a motorcycle were recovered from the suspect’s possession.
On the Lyari Expressway near Gulshan-e-Iqbal, an exchange of fire took place between an SIU/CIA police team and suspected criminals. At the conclusion of the operation, one suspect was arrested in a critically injured state. Authorities recovered a pistol with bullets, gold jewelry, and Rs 2.5 million in cash from his possession.
A third police encounter was reported near Mehran Highway within the jurisdiction of the Bin Qasim police station in District Malir. Law enforcement personnel arrested Asghar Ali son of Aslam in an injured condition after the encounter, while a second individual managed to escape. A pistol with bullets, cash, and a mobile phone were recovered from the arrested person.
The police statement confirmed that all suspects injured in the encounters have been transferred to medical facilities for treatment. It was also stated that operations against criminal elements are ongoing to ensure the safety of citizens, and further investigations into all incidents have been initiated by the respective police stations.
