Transformer stolen from Nasirabad water supply station, authorities fail to stop incidents

Unidentified culprits dismantled and stole a crucial transformer from the old water supply station near Nangar Jethial on Sunday morning, extending a series of theft incidents that local authorities have been unable to curb.

According to reports, the culprits dismantled the entire unit, removed its three valuable coils, and fled the scene undetected. The ease with which the theft was carried out highlights a serious security lapse at the public installation.

Upon learning of the incident, Town Chairman Engineer Yusuf Aziz Chhutto directed Water Supply In-charge Barkat Sheikh to visit the site, conduct a thorough investigation, and submit a comprehensive report. The chairman emphasized that the report was necessary so that “strict action” could be taken against the perpetrators and their facilitators.

After inspecting the crime scene, the police have also initiated an investigation into the matter. However, as of the filing of this report, no arrests had been made by law enforcement agencies, and the suspects involved in the theft remain at large.
