Persons with disabilities in Shahdadkot held a hunger strike rally and demonstration on Tuesday, alleging that the government is unfairly depriving them of low-grade government jobs to favor influential candidates.
Led by Mir Fida Mangi, the protest was attended by members of the disabled community, who claim their employment rights are being systematically violated by the current administration.
Leaders from various political and social organizations and the representative union of persons with disabilities expressed their support for the demonstration. They stressed that the recruitment process for Grade 1 to 5 jobs is an example of the widespread violation of disabled people’s rights in Pakistan.
The protesters demanded immediate justice and an end to the alleged nepotism.
