A suspected drug dealer from Kasur was killed during an encounter with the Crime Control Department (CCD) on Faisalabad Road today, while his two accomplices reportedly fled the scene.
The incident occurred when CCD personnel signaled a suspicious Honda City car to stop. The occupants of the vehicle allegedly opened fire on the personnel.
In the ensuing exchange of fire, one suspect, identified as Shahid of Kasur, was killed. Two other individuals in the vehicle managed to escape into nearby fields.
A search of the vehicle yielded a significant quantity of illicit materials. Authorities recovered 1100 grams of crystal methamphetamine, commonly known as ice. Additionally, weapons including two pistols and a gun were seized from the car.
An investigation is underway to identify the escaped suspects, one of whom is believed to be a resident of Jhang. Law enforcement officials are currently withholding further information pending the ongoing investigation.
