28th death anniversary of renowned Urdu and Sindhi poet Shaikh Ayaz observed

The 28th death anniversary of Shaikh Ayaz, a prominent figure in Urdu and Sindhi literature, a distinguished poet, intellectual, and educationist, was observed today.

The renowned scholar, born in Shikarpur, studied law after graduation and obtained a law degree.

In his illustrious literary journey, Ayaz authored 60 books. His most significant contributions include the masterful Urdu translation of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai’s great poetic collection, “Shah Jo Risalo”.

In recognition of his invaluable services to literature, he was awarded the prestigious “Sitara-e-Imtiaz” award.

This shining star of literature passed away in Karachi on December 28, 1997, and was laid to rest on the bank of the lake adjacent to the shrine of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai in Bhit Shah.
