Officials from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Sunday prevented a passenger from travelling abroad at Karachi Airport after his visa was found to be illegally altered, foiling a major attempt at immigration fraud.
A person named Basit Ahmed was stopped by the authorities when he presented a family visit visa for the United Arab Emirates, which was later found to be tampered with (altered).
According to the initial investigation of the incident, Mr. Ahmed had allegedly obtained this forged travel document from an agent.
The passenger allegedly paid a hefty sum of 200,000 rupees to the agent in exchange for this fake visa.
