The Islamabad police on Monday claimed to have taken 15 suspicious individuals into custody and impounded seventeen motorbikes and one vehicle for legal proceedings following extensive search operations in various parts of the federal capital.
The large-scale security initiative, carried out on the directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, is part of a broader strategy to curb criminal activities and enhance public safety.
Conducted under the supervision of zonal SPs, the recent combing operations covered areas within the jurisdictions of Aabpara, Bani Gala, Tarnol, and Shams Colony police stations.
During the comprehensive sweep, law enforcement personnel thoroughly checked 380 people, 192 residences, five hotels, 154 motorcycles, and 49 other vehicles.
SSP Operations Islamabad, Qazi Ali Raza, emphasised that the primary objective of these measures is to tighten the security cordon around criminal elements and to further strengthen the overall security framework of the city.
He affirmed that the Islamabad Police will continue indiscriminate actions against criminals, land grabbers, and drug traffickers.
The senior officer also appealed to citizens to cooperate with the police and to promptly report any suspicious activity to their nearest station or through the emergency helpline ‘Pucar-15’.
