Serious allegations by his family against Thatta police constable, claim of forceful eviction from ancestral home

Sabra Muhalla Thatta resident women Mst. Shamaila and Mst. Rashida have accused their brother-in-law, a police constable, of severe violence, harassment, and abuse in an attempt to forcefully evict them from their ancestral home.

Addressing a press conference at the National Press Club Thatta today, Ms. Shamaila and Ms. Rashida alleged that their brother-in-law, police department constable Abdul Bari, attacked them, dragged them by their hair, and tore their clothes.

The two women, residents of the city’s Sabra Muhalla, claimed that Abdul Bari uses his official position to harass and blackmail them without reason. They reported a recent incident of severe violence that left them with bleeding injuries, a report of which has been filed with the Thatta police.

In serious allegations, Ms. Rashida claimed that her brother-in-law misbehaved with her. The women stated that the constable wants to forcibly evict them from their ancestral home and that his cruel behavior is not limited to them.

They maintained that Abdul Bari also tortures and threatens his mother and brothers at different times, causing the family to fear that he could cause them fatal harm at any moment.

The husbands of the affected women were also present on the occasion and complained against their brother, Abdul Bari. They confirmed the allegations and said that their lives and property are also at risk.

The family has demanded that the SSP Thatta and other relevant authorities take action against the police constable, provide protection to the women, and ensure the delivery of justice.
