Thatta Police conducted 89 police encounters during 2025, resulting in the elimination of 74 criminal gangs, the death of one suspect, and the arrest of 27 others in an injured state. According to figures released by SSP Farooq Ahmed Bajarani, a total of 3,047 individuals were taken into custody in connection with 1,924 registered cases across the district.
According to the annual performance report released today, , which resulted in the arrest of 324 individuals. Law enforcement agencies also succeeded in apprehending 269 absconders and proclaimed offenders during the year.
In operations under the Arms Act, 125 cases were registered, and an equal number of suspects were arrested. A significant cache of illegal weapons was recovered from their possession, including one Kalashnikov, two rifles, eight repeaters, 114 pistols and revolvers, and 275 rounds of ammunition.
The report highlights the use of modern technology to solve three blind murder cases, leading to the arrest of the actual perpetrators. Furthermore, investigations brought six cases of dacoity and 46 of robbery to their logical conclusion, resulting in the custody of 77 accused.
Special focus was given to narcotics, with 421 cases registered and 665 individuals taken into custody. Recovered items include 117 kilograms of hashish, 9 kilograms of bhang, 0.5 kilograms of ice, and 9,635 liters of local liquor and whiskey.
In an extensive crackdown against prohibited items, the police registered 565 cases related to gutka, mainpuri, and other similar substances. This resulted in the arrest of 895 individuals and the recovery of 67,182 kilograms of gutka material and 186 vehicles allegedly used in its transportation.
Stolen property recovered during the year included five four-wheel vehicles, 65 motorcycles, and 65 cattle. Technical tracing methods also enabled the recovery of 170 stolen or lost mobile phones worth millions of rupees, which were later returned to their owners.
The complaint cell established at the SSP Office Thatta processed 2,165 applications received from various sources, including the Prime Minister’s Portal and courts. The report stated that the issues of all applicants were resolved, with 110 of the applications culminating in the registration of new cases.
Additionally, the Women Protection Cell addressed 427 applications from women and children concerning issues such as domestic disputes, cybercrime, blackmailing, harassment, and rape, with the report noting that many of these cases were resolved promptly.
