Korangi police have confirmed that a suspect was killed in an encounter with law enforcement agencies in the Korangi area late on Tuesday and Wednesday night.
The incident occurred when officers tried to stop two suspicious individuals on a motorcycle near the Korangi Polytechnic Institute.
According to Korangi police, the suspects were robbing citizens when they were intercepted. Upon seeing the police patrol, the assailants opened fire in an attempt to escape.
In the exchange of fire, one suspect was killed in retaliatory action by the police. His accomplice, who is reportedly injured, managed to escape under the cover of darkness.
Authorities recovered a 9mm pistol and two mobile phones from the possession of the deceased.
A police spokesperson added that the body of the deceased suspect has been moved to the hospital for the completion of necessary legal formalities.
