Traffic Plan Issued to Cope with Tourist Rush in Murree in View of Snowfall

In view of the severe traffic pressure due to the expected snowfall and seasonal arrival of tourists, traffic and motorway authorities have, in mutual collaboration, devised a comprehensive strategy to regulate vehicular traffic and assist commuters in and around this popular tourist spot.

The strategy was outlined on Tuesday during a high-level meeting between Chief Traffic Officer Captain (R) Hamza Humayun and Motorway Police Sector Commander for the Murree Expressway, SP Adeel Shehzad.

The focus of the consultation between the two departments was the implementation of coordinated measures to maintain uninterrupted traffic flow on the region’s two key arteries, the main highway and the adjacent Grand Trunk (GT) Road.

The primary objective of the newly formulated plan is to provide convenience and safety to the public during the peak tourist season, which is often complicated by the severe weather conditions.
