Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and the Amir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, discussed unfolding developments in the Middle East during a telephone conversation on Wednesday evening, with Pakistan affirming its support for Qatar’s diplomatic initiatives in the region.
During the call, the Prime Minister commended Doha’s constructive and proactive engagement in promoting peace and dialogue. He specifically acknowledged Qatar’s significant efforts to de-escalate regional tensions through mediation and diplomatic channels, according to an official report today.
Prime Minister Sharif conveyed to the Qatari leader that Pakistan is committed to playing a constructive part in upholding peace and stability across the region.
The conversation, described as warm and cordial, also touched upon the bilateral relationship between the two nations. Both leaders expressed satisfaction with the current trajectory of Pakistan-Qatar ties.
They reaffirmed a mutual determination to further enhance the long-standing and fraternal bonds that connect the two countries.
The two heads of government concluded their discussion by agreeing to maintain close communication in the near future.
