Pound Sterling Nears 380 Mark As Major Currencies Trade At High Levels In Open Market

The British Pound (GBP) was trading near the significant 380-rupee threshold in the open market on Thursday, while the Euro also maintained a strong position above 329, according to figures released by the Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan.

The Pound Sterling was quoted at Rs 376.73 for buying and Rs 380.01 for selling, establishing it as the highest-valued currency listed in the day’s summary.

Meanwhile, the US Dollar was available at Rs 280.38 for buying and Rs 281.00 for selling in the open currency market. In the interbank system, the greenback was valued slightly lower at Rs 279.96 for buying and Rs 280.16 for selling.

The Euro’s rates were recorded at Rs 326.50 for buying and Rs 329.50 for selling. The Japanese Yen was noted at Rs 1.75 and Rs 1.82 for buying and selling, respectively.

Key currencies from the Gulf region also featured, with the UAE Dirham priced at Rs 76.52 for buying and Rs 77.26 for selling. The Saudi Riyal was recorded at Rs 74.84 for buying against a selling rate of Rs 75.44.
