Many of the deceased and injured in the Gul Plaza tragedy remain unidentified.
According to a report today from the Edhi Trust relief organization, efforts are ongoing to formally identify all the victims, both deceased and injured, in the devastating incident at Gul Plaza.
The list of the deceased includes Kashif son of Akbar, 40; Faraz son of Abrar, 55; Aamir son of Salman, 30; Wazir son of Iqbal, 28; and Furqan son of Shaukat, 25. One deceased 28-year-old male has not yet been identified.
A significant number of people were injured in the incident. Those identified among the injured include Hamza son of Muhammad Ali, 20; Abdullah son of Abdul Nazir, 22; Ayan son of Muhammad Qasim, 22; and Haseeb son of Wasim, 25.
Also on the list of the injured are Daniyal son of Siraj Pir; Rahim son of Gul Muhammad, 25; Usman son of Asghar Ali, 20; Fahad son of Hanif, 47; Zain son of Abdullah, 23; and Muhammad Hanif son of Muhammad Majeed, 22.
The official list of casualties and injured highlights the ongoing challenges of identification. One injured person, approximately 45 years old, remains unidentified. Another entry simply lists an unknown person, also aged 45. The record also includes two separate entries for a person named Sadiq, aged 35, with the father’s name listed as “unknown” in both instances.
