Pakistan Pledges Full Support for Colombian Peace and Security Initiatives at UN

Pakistan has formally declared its complete backing for the Colombian government’s measures to enhance national security, voicing its endorsement during a United Nations Security Council briefing on the South American nation.

Addressing the session, Ambassador Usman Jadoon, Acting Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations, today appreciated the efforts of the UN Verification Mission. He highlighted the mission’s important role in assisting the Colombian administration in implementing the peace agreement, emphasizing its important presence on the ground as authorized by the Security Council.

The Pakistani envoy issued a strong encouragement to all involved parties to sustain the current positive momentum. He urged the continuation of the peace-building process through a comprehensive, enduring, and unified application of the peace accord.

Ambassador Jadoon concluded that such commitment is essential to convert the aspiration of peace and the prospect of a brighter future into a concrete reality for the entire Colombian population.
