Two most-wanted suspects, nominated in 31 cases of serious crimes, were killed in an armed encounter with law enforcement agencies on Tuesday.
Authorities have confirmed that the deceased have been identified as operatives of the Jameel Changa group, involved in the Lyari gang war.
According to their criminal records obtained by Station House Officer (SHO) Adeel Afzal, one suspect, Riaz Multani, was booked in 22 cases of serious crimes such as murder, attempted murder, robbery, police encounter, and possession of illegal weapons.
The second suspect, identified as Waqas, had nine separate cases of a serious nature, including attempted murder, theft, robbery, and possession of illegal weapons.
According to official sources, both suspects had become a symbol of fear across the city and were actively sought by the police.
The deadly encounter occurred when SHO Adeel Afzal and Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Faisal Raheem came across the suspects during a routine patrol.
Law enforcement officials confirmed that both suspects were killed in the exchange of fire.
Two TT pistols, a motorcycle, and other items were recovered from the scene and taken into police custody as evidence.
