Senior administrative and police officials have pledged to provide better security for Thatta’s wind and solar energy projects. This assurance was made following a high-level meeting where representatives from the companies gave a detailed briefing on significant challenges, including theft and other security-related issues.

The meeting, held today at the Darbar Hall in Makli, was jointly chaired by Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad Fayyaz Abbasi and DIG Hyderabad Tariq Razzaq Dharejo. Key stakeholders, including Deputy Commissioner Thatta Sarmad Ali Bhagat, SSP Thatta Farooq Bijarani, and management from alternative energy firms, attended the meeting to devise a strategy to resolve these urgent issues.

Divisional Commissioner Fayyaz Abbasi, calling the energy projects vital for the national economy, stressed that their protection is a national responsibility. He urged the formulation of an effective mechanism to enhance security arrangements and bridge the communication gap between the administration and the companies.

Mr. Abbasi directed the project managers to maintain constant contact with the district administration and to approach them directly in case of any issue, assuring that their offices are always open. He also emphasized ensuring the provision of basic facilities to the local population under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and promised full on-ground support for all projects.

Addressing the meeting, DIG Hyderabad Tariq Razzaq Dharejo affirmed that effective and improved security measures would be guaranteed for the wind and solar installations, and the police are ready to play their full part in this regard.

During the briefing, representatives from the energy projects outlined the difficulties they faced, particularly mentioning security and theft issues. They confirmed that their CSR units are actively working to provide employment, health, and other basic facilities to local residents, which they consider their fundamental right.

The company managers expressed satisfaction at the administration’s prompt and positive response, stating that such joint measures send a good message not only to the local administration but also to the significant foreign investors involved in the sector.
