The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) in Okara today dismissed two officials from service after they were found guilty in a bribery and corruption case of Rs 70,000.
The employees, identified as Kamran and Shehroz, faced departmental action which culminated in their immediate dismissal after the corruption charge was proven.
This swift action was taken by Abdul Waheed, the Managing Director of WASA Okara, who took notice of the matter and ordered the dismissal.
In a statement, Mr. Waheed affirmed a zero-tolerance policy against corruption. He declared that “there is no room for corruption, irregularities, and black sheep in the WASA department,” and pledged that a strict policy would be adopted against those who plunder public institutions.
